Want To Know How a Wireless Bra Should Fit?

Alex Pluthero |

Finding the perfect bra can feel like a daunting task, but fear not! When it comes to wireless bras, achieving the ideal fit is key to both comfort and support. In this guide, we'll explore the ins and outs of how a wireless bra should fit, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable every time you slip one on.

Always Start with the Band

The band of a wireless bra should sit snugly against your ribcage, parallel to the ground. It should provide support without feeling too tight or constricting. You should be able to fit two fingers comfortably under the band, ensuring it doesn't dig into your skin. But two fingers only! If you can pull the bra anymore than two inches away from your body, it's time to go down a band size.

Next, Check the Cups

The cups of a wireless bra should fully encapsulate your breasts without any spillage or bulging. There should be no gaps between your breasts and the cups, and the fabric should lie flat against your skin. For most wireless bras, the centre part of the bra won't sit flat against your body like most wired bras do, because there is no wire holding it in place! Our Freedom Bra doesn't sit flat against your body at the centre, but you won't notice this under clothing at all.

Now, Assess the Straps

The shoulder straps of a wireless bra should be adjusted so they sit comfortably on your shoulders without digging in or slipping off. You should be able to lift your arms without the straps moving out of place. If the straps are digging into your shoulders, try adjusting them or opting for bras with wider, padded straps for added comfort.

Consider the Underarms

Ensure the side wings of the bra (the fabric under the arms) lie flat against your skin without causing any bulging or discomfort. The cups of your bra shouldn't be digging in to your underarm. If they are, you're probably wearing the wrong size. Time to get a bra fitting - Try a fitting here

Laslty, Test for Movement

Once you've adjusted your wireless bra, do a few movements to ensure everything stays in place. Bend over, stretch your arms, and twist from side to side to see if the bra shifts or moves. A well-fitted wireless bra should stay in place and provide support during everyday activities.

Achieving the perfect fit for a wireless bra is essential for comfort and support, because they can fit a little differently to wired bras. But different is OK! By following these tips and guidelines, you can ensure your wireless bras fit correctly, providing the support and confidence you need throughout the day. Remember to regularly reassess your bra size and fit to accommodate any changes in your body. Here's to finding the perfect wireless bra that feels like a dream to wear!
